Abstract
The collection of the "Ovazza collection," owned by the Engineering Library, consists of approximately 815 volumes published from the mid-19th to the early 20th century, with texts and handouts in Italian, French, and German, addressing various topics: electricity and electrical engineering, with particular attention to force measurement instruments and tables of electrical formulas; mechanics and machines; and hydraulics. The volumes contain many engravings and lithographs that allow scholars in the field to delve deeper into the evolution of engineering techniques, as well as physical, mathematical, and astronomical ones. The selected volumes represent a selection of texts preparatory to the university path, and therefore characterized by formal precision and clarity of exposition, leading the reader from the simplest notions to increasingly complex concepts, connecting theories with experimental experience and practical applications."
