Abstract
The collection of musical librettos of the University of Palermo consists of a precious documentary heritage, testimony to the lively lyrical and theatrical production between the 18th and 19th centuries. Originally printed to accompany operatic and musical performances, the librettos offer a direct glimpse into the culture, language, and artistic practices of the time. Thanks to digitalization, it is possible to explore rare and often difficult-to-find texts and contribute to the valorization and preservation of the University's musical memory and the local area.
Digitization and platform publishing respond to the University's commitment to promoting open access to knowledge and protecting cultural heritage, making materials that fall into the public domain and can be freely consulted and studied accessible.
