Abstract
Antonio Marinuzzi, son of Michele Marinuzzi and Francesca Antonuzzi, was born in Palermo on 25 August 1851. He completed his schooling in his native city and enrolled in the Faculty of Law, graduating in 1873. A lawyer by profession, he served as President of the Bar Association of Palermo and was a member of the Sicilian Society for Homeland History. He was known as a distinguished orator and an enthusiast of the history of Sicilian public law. He was also promoter and Secretary General of the National Exhibition held in Palermo in 1891. Politically liberal and a follower of Francesco Crispi, he served as a municipal councillor and deputy mayor of Palermo, as well as a national deputy and later a senator of the Kingdom of Italy. Upon his death, which occurred in Palermo on 19 April 1917, the Municipal Library received, as a donation, his collection of works on Sicilian public law, consisting of 19 manuscripts and 546 books and pamphlets.
